On the occasion of this year’s International Forum, our Competence Partner, Mr. Rudolf Neumeier, had hold the presentation “Current state of collaborative networks in the Swiss biochemical industry”. It was about cooperation and networking between medium and large companies.

Extract from the introduction to the KIET forum:

The lack of collaborative culture between large and small enterprises is noted as a chronic problem that hinders domestic economic growth in Korea. In particular, the vertically integrated network structure driven by large corporations limits the innovation and self-sustained growth of SMEs, thereby impeding responsiveness of Korean economy to the rapidly changing global economic environment such as the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Hence, the policy authorities are working in cooperation with the private sector in making various efforts to transform the existing vertical network into a horizontal network that emphasizes cooperation and shared growth. As collaborative networks contribute not only to creating a sound growth environment for SMEs and start-ups through cooperation between large enterprises and SMEs, but also promoting their voluntary innovation, they will help develop new growth engines. Besides, collaborative networks will enable creation of a shared growth ecosystem by improving social inequality, which helps establish a fair market order. Therefore, the establishment of collaborative networks will accelerate income-led growth as it will contribute to creation of a growth base for SMEs and small businesses as well as creation of quality Jobs.
